This LRRP unit came into being on 1 November, 1966. A LRRP Detachment was formed in 1967 and placed OPCON to G2 with logistics provided by the 191st MI. In June 1967, the LRRP Detachment became part of HHC 1st Cavalry Division. On 20 December, 1967, the LRRP Detachment was re-designated as Company E (LR), 52nd Infantry (ABN). On February 1, 1969 the unit was re-designated as Company H (Ranger), 75th Infantry (Abn). During mid 1971 for a two-month period, Company H was known as HHC Det. 10 (Ranger). The Lineage of Company H is now being carried by the 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment. |
